To swap BNB for CAKE at PancakeSwap on a desktop PC, you need to do it under Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Network. This is because the PancakeSwap token CAKE is a BEP20 token that originally launched on Binance Smart Chain.

If you need to transfer BNB from Binance to your wallet, please follow this link below:

The instruction below uses Metamask as an example. If you are using Trust Wallet and have problems connecting it to PancakeSwap, please follow this link below:

How to connect Trust Wallet to PancakeSwap from a desktop PC?

Point your desktop browser to . Connect Metamask to PancakeSwap using the "Connect Wallet" button. If you have multiple wallet accounts in Metamask, you will be prompted to select one. Select the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Network account where you keep the BNB asset.

Once Metamask is connected to PancakeSwap, the "Connect Wallet" button will show your wallet address. Select Trade >> Exchange from the left menu.

Select the BNB - CAKE pair under the Swap tab.

Enter an amount either in the BNB or CAKE field.

Confirm Swap if everything is in order.

A "Waiting For Confirmation" message will pop up on PancakeSwap website. At the same time, Metamask Extension will prompt you to "Confirm" the transaction. In this case, the estimated gas fee is 0.000855 BNB (about $0.425).

Upon transaction submission, it will usually take less than a minute or two before CAKE shows up in your wallet.

If you are have Trust Wallet installed (with notification permission turned on), you will also get a notification on your mobile device.

Remember to switch to BSC Network if you can't see CAKE listed in Metamask. Please take note that this step is not required for Trust Wallet. Unlike Metamask, Trust Wallet does not display tokens of different networks under different interfaces. Instead, Trust Wallet mixes all tokens and show them under on roof. By the way, if you have not added BSC Network to Metamask, please refer to this link below:

How to add Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Network to Metamask?

CAKE is not added to Metamask by default. Use the "+ ADD TOKENS" feature in Metamask to add it. Please refer to this link below:
